“This is the first time I heard about it! These are rumors, nothing more,” Oleg Grishchenko told the correspondent of news agency “ZHKH64.”
Speaking to reporters of radio “Echo of Moscow” in Saratov, the city mayor called this information silly and refused to comment on it, news agency “Versia-Saratov.”
Meanwhile Penza Communists suggest that Oleg Grishchenko is in touch with the deputy head of the Presidential Administration of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin, who “is allegedly lobbying Grishchenko’s candidacy for the governor of the Penza region.”
In addition, the regional committee of the Communist Party believe that there is no fundamental difference as to what region a new representative of the United Russia will come from, because he will represent the interests of the party in power rather than working people.
As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, last Monday, February 24 ,the exaggerated in political circles unofficial list of candidates for the post of the governor of the Penza region, which used to include at least three people, among whom is the vice-governor of the region Valery Savin, the deputy plenipotentiary of the Russian president in the Volga Federal District Oleg Melnichenko, the president of OJSC “TVEL” Yuri Olenin, now has one more name — Oleg Grishchenko, who is currently the head of Saratov.
