Penza, 18 March 2014. PenzaNews. The governor of the Penza region Vasily Bochkarev can leave the post of the head of the region in May 2014. This was stated in the newspaper article “Kuzmich is out in May?” published in “Ulitsa Moskovskaya” on the official website of the newspaper on Monday, March 17.

“The surrounding space contaminated with subservience and fear, suddenly began to change. Those who have recently defended Bochkarev stopped doing it. Moreover, a view has widely spread that 16 years in power is a lot,” the publication belonging to the editor in chief of “Ulitsa Moskovskaya” Valentin Manuylov, says.

He noted that “everyone connected with Botchkarev with the ties of friendship and partnership will have to think about what they are going to do now.”

“Whether they will be released from their duties on their own or wait until they are offered to do so,” Valentin Manuylov stressed.

The author of the article also suggested that the expected resignation of the governor of the Penza region may be associated with the dismissal from the position of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the region police major-general Alexander Kasimkin.

“Due to the circumstances of the departure of general Kasimkin from Penza, I assume that dynamic equilibrium, which has developed between him and Bochkarev, broke. This meant that defeated Kasimkin would try to win back. He probably took his daddy by compromising him,” Valentin Manuylov wrote.

At the end of the article, he suggested watching the “sauce under which Bochkarev will leave,” if the governor is actually leaving the position in May 2014.

As news agency PenzaNews reported earlier, some time ago the political circles exaggerated the so-called “unofficial list of candidates” for the post of the governor of the Penza region.

It includes at least three people, among whom is the vice-governor of the region Valery Savin, the deputy plenipotentiary of the Russian president in the Volga Federal District Oleg Melnichenko, and the president of OJSC “TVEL” Yuri Olenin.

Also among the possible candidates for the governing position was the head of the Saratov region Oleg Grishchenko, who later called this news a rumor.
