The first to pay tribute to the leader of the world proletariat were the first vice-speaker of the State Duma, the first deputy chairman of the Central Committee of the Communist Party Ivan Melnikov and fthe irst secretary of the regional committee of the Communist Party, the member of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region Georgy Kamnev.

Then the flowers to the monument were laid by the deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Physical Culture, Sport and Youth Affairs, the member of the Presidium of the Central Committee and the secretary of the Communist Party Yuri Afonin and Russian State Duma deputy from the Communist Party Vladimir Simagin.

After that a moment of silence was announced.

Also, the results of interregional Komsomol rally “Saratov - Samara — Penza,” which took place on Tuesday May 27, were reported on Lenin square.

Ivan Melnikov thanked activists and supporters for participating in the campaign and wished fruitful work during the seminar-meeting of party organizations of the Communist Party of the Volga Federal District, which will be held in Penza on May 31 and June 1.
