Penza, 3 June 2014. PenzaNews. The first secretary of the regional committee of the Communist Party, member of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region Georgy Kamnev commented for news agency PenzaNewson intraparty voting results of “United Russia,” based on which a list of candidates for the election of deputies of the City Duma of the sixth convocation, scheduled for September 14, 2014, will be compiled.

“We believe it to be not quite a good option when the vote is organized in the same places where there will be future election commissions, as this is impossible for other parties — authorities would have found a million reasons not to allow other parties conducting such activities. This puts one of the parties — “United Russia” — in a better position compared to others,” Georgy Kamnev said.

He reminded that out of 35 candidates who won in the primaries, 20 people are currently in the City Duma.

“Rotation is actually very-very insignificant. Furthermore, there are representatives of organizations owned or managed by the deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region, former deputies of the City Duma. Therefore, if we look deeper, the rotation is even smaller than it looks. We give a negative assessment to the activity of the City Duma of current convocation, as well as the previous one, because the composition has not changed at all,” the politician said.

He added that the Communist Party does not see any positive changes in the work of the City Duma.

“Of course, we can talk about the celebration of the 350th anniversary of Penza, but that was federal money, regional money. What did the city do? Perhaps, the authority only delayed construction, explaining that everything will be built too soon, which actually is not a problem. Then, why do we need the city government? It is unclear. Instead, we have strange, murky schemes in housing and communal services, rising fares, gradual rise in bread prices, etc., etc. The representatives of these organizations were also in Duma, and as we see now, they are willing to remain in the City Duma of the next convocation,” Georgy Kamnev said.

As a negative example, he cited the activities of one of the candidates of the party “United Russia.”

“Andrei Fomin, CEO of “Corporations Dilizhans.” This is an organization which not only increases the fare of public transport, but also requires funds from the city. We wonder: on the one hand, they speak of market relations, on the other hand, for some reason, they are demanding money from the budget. So if it is an unprofitable business, then why do you do it,” the leader of Penza communists said.

According to him, many deputies from “United Russia” did nothing good for the city and behaved unworthily in their deputy chairs, so we should not trust them in the future.

“The only option for the population, for the residents of Penza, is to vote for the Communist Party,” Georgy Kamnev said.

He assured that the number of candidates from the Communists will traditionally include the representatives of all segments of the population.

“These are workers, doctors, teachers, and professors. Naturally, there will be some small business owners, perhaps, middle-size business, managers, experienced old people and youth. We will build a serious team that will represent all segments of the population. Only such people can truly represent the interests of residents of Penza unselfishly, with only one purpose: to make our city a better and more beautiful place,” the first secretary of the regional committee of the Communist Party concluded.
