Penza mayor Roman Chernov submitted a statement addressed to the head of Penza Yuri Alpatov requesting to consider his early resignation. “I ask you to terminate the contract with the head of administration of Penza early on April 6, 2009, in accordance with paragraph 7.1.2 of the contract on June 19, 2014 at my own request,” the statement said.

According to Art. 32 of the Charter of the city of Penza, the decision to terminate the powers of the mayor is made by the City Duma.

It is expected that Chernov’s statement will be considered by deputies at the 63rd session, which will take place on Thursday, June 19.
