Penza, 18 July 2014. PenzaNews. The deputies of the City Duma of the fifth convocation supported the candidacy of Yuri Krivov, who is currently holding the position of the chairman of the regional government, as the mayor of Penza during the 64th extraordinary session held on Friday, July 18.

Yuri Krivov was supported by 26 out of 27 votees.

His opponent, the deputy director general of “Penzalift” Vladimir Belyakin, received no support.

One of the deputies voted against the both candidates.

Voting was anonymous and advised by the counting board, composed of deputies Alexander Mitroshin, Anatoly Ovcharenko, and Boris Panin.

When all the members cast their ballots in the ballot box, the commission went to count the votes.

After the announcement of the voting results, the deputies gave a round of applause to the new mayor and congratulated Yuri Krivov with a convincing victory.
