Penza, 7 August 2014. PenzaNews. Anton Ishchenko, Russian State Duma deputy from the Liberal Democratic Party, publicly responded to Georgy Kamnev, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region and the first secretary of the regional committee of the Communist Party, who suggested that the results of the elections to the City Duma scheduled for September 14, 2014, may be a failure for the Liberal Democrats.

“Of course, your tactics of being helpful and kowtowing to the regional government (by the way, does @Gennadiy Zuganov know about that?) will be more useful for the people of Penza and the Penza region than the position of LDPR as independent and uncontrolled by local authorities. It’s just that the numbers of these residents will be limited to the amount of mandates and ministerial portfolios issued to your party from the ‘yellow house.’ That’s why, perhaps, hundreds of Penza residents who cannot find support and protection in other instances (not speaking about the pocket-party of the Communists) go to the public receiving office of the Liberal Democratic Party,” Anton Ishchenko wrote on Facebook on Thursday, August 7.

State Duma deputy added that for him and Mikhail Usov [Coordinator of Penza regional branch of the Liberal Democratic Party], “it is not the most pleasant experience to sleep in cars and airplanes moving from one city to another so that we could meet with citizens who are in need of help.”

“And if Penza residents say that they do not need our support, we will not insist on our participation in the elections to the City Duma. This is not the most important thing for us. We just want the law to be the same for everyone, and life conditions worthy for everyone,” Anton Ishchenko stressed.
