Penza communists supported nationwide protest

Penza, 25 August 2014. PenzaNews. Penza Communists held a public rally near Dzerzhinsky monument as a part of the nationwide protests on Saturday, August 23.

Despite the fact that the party officials expected to attract 300 people, the event gathered a little over 100.
The protesters were holding banners reading “No to healthcare collapse,” “We demand war orphans laws,” “Stop feeding the thieves from housing services,” “Basic pension at 16 thousand rubles,” “Remember: the rights come if you struggle,” and others.
During the public rally, the activists distributed propaganda materials, such as “Penzenskaya Iskra” newspaper and a special edition of “Pravda.”
The gathered were addressed by Dmitry Filyaev, first secretary of the Communist Party city committee; Vladimir Rakhmin, the second secretary of the Communist Party city committee; Oleg Seleznev, the first secretary of the Communist Party Lunino regional committee; Nina Chernikova, chairman of the public organization “The Children of War”; Vladimir Simagin, Russian State Duma deputy; and others.
During the public rally, the participants unanimously adopted two resolutions. One of them demanded immediate utility rates freeze, and control over utility bills in order to prevent their growth; the second demanded to take decisive actions on the situation in the southeast of Ukraine and provide humanitarian aid to the fraternal people.
