“Neither the Penza region government nor the Election Commission of the Penza region received any claims from the administration of President of the Russian Federation and the Russian Central Election Commission concerning the number of early voters in the election of deputies of Penza City Duma of the sixth convocation,” the statement says.
The reason for Nikolai Taktarov’s letter to the media was the article posted on Thursday, September 11, by news agency “PenzaNews,” titled “Kremlin concerned about early voting in Penza.”
The article, with reference to the RBC network, says that the administration of the Russian President is closely monitoring the progress of early voting in the regions and has concerns about the high number of voters in St. Petersburg, as well as Nizhny Novgorod and Samara regions.
The article of the news agency also notes that the Kremlin is alarmed about early voting to Penza City Duma at the level of administrative centers.
