Penza, 24 September 2014. PenzaNews. Viktor Kuvaytsev elected as the head of Penza, named one of the most important tasks of the City Duma of the sixth convocation — municipal budget expenditure optimization.

“I believe, many city residents would agree with me that we need to live within the means,” Viktor Kuvaytsev said during a meeting with reporters after the first organizational session of Penza City Duma on Wednesday, September 24.

Among other important problems to be solved in the near future, he pointed out the problems with the resettlement of people from emergency housing, and issues related to the activities of management companies.

Viktor Kuvaytsev also thanked the residents of Penza, who took part in the elections to the City Duma on September 14.

“These are active people with firm civic stand, who care about the city. I understand that they expressed all their wishes through the deputies, and, thanks to them, we actually do everything to make the city a better place. We will do our best to justify their hopes,” the head of Penza stated.

Responding to the question about whether he will leave the post of rector of Penza State Agricultural Academy, Viktor Kuvaytsev said that, according to the statute of the city and the university, he cannot combine the new position with the former one.
