Moscow, 17 December 2014. PenzaNews. Sergei Mironov, representative of “A Just Russia” party faction in the Russian Duma, said he has no plans to take a business trip to Penza city in early 2015 but expressed his belief a positive reason will appear soon.

“[Will I visit Penza soon?] Doubt it. The first reason: 11 regions of the Federation will hold executive branch elections in September 2015. Alas, the Penza region is not among them, and I, of course, will be ‘rushing along’ these 11 regions. The second region. I’ll say it this way: as soon as we have a strong candidate for a leader of the regional branch, I […] will be ready to arrive on my own, present him and have a talk, including the party members,” Sergei Mironov replied to a question of Pavel Polosin, editor-in-chief of PenzaNews agency, about the reasons behind the politicians’ infrequent visits [in 2004, 2007 and 2008]. The question was asked during the meeting with the regional media in Moscow on Tuesday, December 16.
The leader of “A Just Russia” said the new leader of the Penza branch must be a local, not “a Moscow Viking-style conqueror,” because he must have first-hand knowledge of the problems in the land he lives.
“Frankly, it’s been time since I was [in Penza]. Your beautiful Lermontov landmarks, as I recall, were pleasant to me. So – yes, I think it’s time [to pay a visit], I hope there will be a reason,” Sergei Mironov concluded.
As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, Sergei Mironov criticized the state of affairs for the Penza region branch of “A Just Russia” led by the director of municipal unitary enterprise “‘Anshlag’ Advertising Agency” Valery Plakhuta. He also stressed the importance of locating a new leader for the Penza branch by various means, including media.
