Penza governor’s Twitter mistakenly posted, deleted Sergei Egorov’s obituary

Penza, 5 January 2015. PenzaNews. The Twitter account of the Penza region governor has deleted a message about the death of Sergei Egorov, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region of the fifth convocation, vice-principal of the Penza State University, which has been published early on Monday, January 5.

However, the message had already been cached by search engines and disseminated by mass media.

“My condolences to relatives and friends of S.N. Egorov. He did much for the development of the Penza region,” said the message that had been published in Vasily Bochkarev’s Twitter account due to unknown mistake.

In her comment on the rumor, Natalya Tolkacheva, head of public relations of the Penza State University, told PenzaNews agency “it is not true.”

At the same time, Marina Timokhina, head of the press service of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region, also said that Sergei Egorov is alive, and his life is not in danger.

Sergei Nikolaevich Egorov, Cand. Sc., was born in Kurganinsk town of Krasnodarsky Krai on April 13, 1948.

From 1997 to 2000, he held the position of deputy head of Penza administration.

From 2000 to 2007, he led the central office of the Penza regional governor, and was working as the chairman of the government and as the vice-governor.

As of December 2011, he has been working as the vice-principal of the Penza State University.

Sergei Egorov had been and is currently working in politics on various levels.
