Vladimir Volkov has been appointed acting first deputy chairman of the regional government and interim Minister of Investment Development and Foreign Trade of the Penza region, Viktor Rubtsov, governor’s staff department leader and chief of the regional government, informed PenzaNews agency on Friday, January 16.

According to him, the ministry is still being developed.

“The task of the minister is to form the staff schedule, the structure of the ministry, and later assign people to positions,” the agency interlocutor explained.

The Ministry of Investment Development and Foreign Trade of the Penza region was created after the Ministry of Investment Development and Business, led by Alexei Kostin, was renamed.

The new ministry will be responsible for analysis, monitoring and planning of regional foreign trade. It will also prepare suggestions for optimization of foreign trade, such as campaigns aimed at foreign investors.

The new ministry was created during a far-reaching government optimization campaign.
