In his letter, the public official calls for the regional authorities to follow the example of the Russian President Vladimir Putin. On March 6, the head of the state signed orders to reduce wages of himself, the government chairman, vice-PMs, ministers, heads of military administration, high officials of the Central Election Commission, state servants of the Presidential administration, the government system and the Chamber of Accounting by 10%.

Anton Ischenko also asked for Vasily Bochkarev and Ivan Belozertsev to send him a follow-up after reviewing the letter.

“The address, if it will be received, definitely will be reviewed by the chief,” an anonymous source in the Penza region government told PenzaNews agency.

“And he will get the answer. Only I haven’t seen the letter with my own eyes,” the source said, also expressing their doubts about the necessity of a State Duma deputy sending such letters to a head of a federal region.

“It’s as if nobody but Ischenko in Penza know anything about what President says, what decision he makes and what is going on in the country’s economy. Doesn’t he have anything else to do?” asks the source.

Currently, the official position of the Penza region Legislative Assembly on Anton Ischenko’s initiative is unknown.
