Penza, 21 June 2015. PenzaNews. The majority of the delegates for the extraordinary 50th regional conference of the Penza region LDPR branch have supported the decision of the party’s Supreme Council to choose Zhigansha Tuktarov, head of the City Duma Liberal Democratic Party faction, as the candidate for the upcoming gubernatorial election in the Penza region.

“He shown as very good result during the Penza City Duma election. And I believe that Zhigansha Zeiyantullovich will keep his performance up at the election if we show him our support by voting in his favor today,” the State Duma deputy from the Saratov region Anton Ischenko, himself a formerly confirmed candidate for the gubernatorial election until June 18, said at the conference.

The speech was followed by a break for the anonymous voting and counting the ballots, after which the conferences’ accounting committee chairman Oksana Trokhina announced the results.

A total of 85 ballots were cast at the election, 81 out of them in favor of Zhigansha Tuktarov as the candidate ant 4 against.

In his address to the audience, the now LDPR candidate for the Penza region gubernatorial election thanked all the delegates for their trust shown by promoting him.

“This is a very tough job with great responsibility on me. But, through our joint work and your support, we will manage, get good percentage, and thus make a statement that LDPR is widely supported in the Penza region,” he said.
