Penza, 24 July 2015. PenzaNews. The State Duma deputy Vladimir Simagin, a promoted candidate of the Communist Party for the Penza region gubernatorial election, was the first out of the six potential candidates to provide a sufficient number of signatures from the local deputies to bypass the so-called “municipal filter,” the last barrier before his confirmation as the election candidate.

Vladimir Simagin has provided the maximum 283 signatures needed (at the minimum of 270) through his financial representative Yuliana Kotova, the deputy chairman of the Penza region election committee Alexei Klimukhin informed PenzaNews agency.

“Moreover, he provided the information on opening a dedicated election bank account, the documents for three potential candidates to be elected as Federation Council members in case of his success, and a written document saying he owns no bank accounts or valuables abroad and neither owns nor uses any foreign financial services,” he said.

He also listed the three names given by Vladimir Simagin to the regional election committee.

“These are Gennady Demidov, surgeon of the regional Burdenko clinical hospital, and Sergei Sakeev and Lyubov Vlasova, pensioners,” Alexei Klimukhin clarified.

As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, the promoted candidates will be able to provide the necessary signatures until 6 pm of Wednesay, July 29.

The Penza region election committee will have ten days to check the signatures and the documents provided by the candidates.

Every check will result in an approval or a decline with a reason.
