The acting governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev, promoted candidate of the regional United Russia party branch for the September 13 election, was successfully registered as the candidate for the election during the August 4 regional election committee session.

The candidate himself was not present at the event due to a business trip, the deputy chairman of the regional election committee Alexei Klimukhin told PenzaNews agency.

“I believe he will be able to find time to receive his document. […] The statement on registration was approved at 17.05. All 283 signatures of municipal deputies, including 44 signatures from 30 municipal areas and city regions, that Ivan Belozertsev had provided, raised no objections,” said the speaker.

He also noted that the audit of documents provided by Ivan Belozertsev resulted in no issues.

“The procedure followed the federal law ‘On Political Parties’ and the regional law ‘On Penza Region Gubernatorial Election’,” Alexei Klimukhin stressed.
