Penza, 5 August 2015. PenzaNews. Yuri Afonin, deputy chairman of the State Duma committee on physical education, sports and youth affairs, member of the Presidium and secretary of the Central Committee of the CPRF, will visit Penza on Wednesday, August 12.

“We expect Yuri Vyacheslavovich [Afonin] to arrive to Penza early in the morning and immediately go to the Nikolsk area where he will meet the locals and tell them about the most recent initiatives of the CRPF faction in the State Duma, talks to people, and hold a meeting with the local party branch,” Georgy Kamnev, first secretary of the regional CPRF committee, deputy of the Penza region Legislative Assembly, told PenzaNews agency.

According to him, the agenda of Yuri Afonin’s visit also includes several other events, such as a meeting with the acting governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev, an inspection of the new building for the regional Communist Party committee on Kirova street, and a press conference.

As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, Yuri Afonin last visited Penza a year ago. On May 30, 2014, along with Ivan Melnikov, first vice-speaker of the State Duma, first deputy chairman of the Central Committee for the CPRF, he took part in the official opening ceremony for the Karl Marx monument.

The federal politicians also took part in a two-day seminar meeting of the Volga Federal District Communists that was held in Penza from May 31 to June 1.
