Penza, 11 August 2015. PenzaNews. Valery Lidin has been unanimously elected chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region during the 28th regular session of the regional parliament, held on Tuesday, August 11.

When describing the candidacy of Valery Lidin proposed for the post of speaker of the regional parliament in the XX Conference of the Penza branch of United Russia Party, acting governor Ivan Belozertsev stressed his business, moral and professional qualities.

“He did a lot for the development and improvement of the legislation of the Penza region. I believe that if you support him, he will be worthy to serve as chairman of the Legislative Assembly,” the head of the region pointed out.

Vadim Supikov, head of the faction “United Russia” in the Penza region Legislative Assembly, noted that the candidacy of Valery Lidin was supported unanimously.at the party meeting.

“We all know only the best of this man. Valery Kuzmich [Lidin] was there during the formation of the regional parliament. Almost every one of us received invaluable assistance in word and deed,” he stressed.

In turn, Georgy Kamnev, first secretary of the regional committee of the Communist Party of Russia, member of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region, said that the faction of the Communist Party will also support the candidacy of Valery Lidin.

Deputy Lyubov Ruzmanova noted the support of Valery Lidin to his colleagues, as well as his extensive experience.

No other candidates were nominated.

The results of the secret ballot were announced by deputy Alexander Lomovtsev, head of the counting commission.

He said that 32 ballot were issued, in the end, all of them are valid, and all the votes for Valeria Lidin.

Once a corresponding resolution of the Legislative Assembly was adopted, Valery Lidin addressed the deputies.

“Thank you so much for your trust. I will try to do my best for the effective, efficient work of the Legislative Assembly of the fifth convocation,” he said.

As PenzaNews agency reported earlier, from October 2012 the position of the chairman of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region has been held by Ivan Belozertsev, and Valery Lidin has been his first deputy.

On May 25, 2015 by the decree of President Vladimir Putin, Ivan Belozertsev was appointed acting governor of the Penza region in connection with the expiration of the term of office of Vasily Bochkarev, who had headed the region since 1998.

During the 27th regular session of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev's powers as a speaker and a deputy were terminated early.

Due to this, Valery Lidin performed as the acting chairman of the Legislative Assembly.
