Penza, 18 August 2015. PenzaNews. The head of the press service of the regional committee of the Communist Party Sergei Padalkin and four other activists, including the leader of the local Komsomol Alexei Bulanov, were detained by police in Spassk, the Penza region.

“I have been detained by police in Spassk along with four activists of Leninist Komsomol for distributing pre-election newspapers for gubernatorial candidate Simagin,” Sergei Padalkin twitted on Tuesday afternoon, August 18.

“The police say they received a call from the city administration head [Nikolai] Lomonov, who instructed them to detain us for agitating for Simagin,” he said.

Sergei Padalkin added that among the arrested is their driver.
