The members of the United Russia election headquarters, lead by the secretary of the regional party branch and acting governor of the Penza region Ivan Belozertsev, gubernatorial candidate for the election, took part in the select meeting of the party chairman Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister of Russia. The meeting took place in the evening of Sunday, September 13.

“I would like to begin by saying that, based on the data we have, I see the results as quite satisfactory for United Russia,” Dmitry Medvedev said.

“Good results, I’d even tell you,” the party leader remarked.

These results reflect the actual influence of United Russia in the regions along with the electorate opinion, and also show the development of democracy in the country as the parliamentary party hold varyingly successful election campaigns, he pointed out.

“The election was highly competitive,” the Prime Minister stressed.

Dmitry Medvedev also highlighted the fact that the Unided Russia party members must place particular emphasis on fulfilling the election promises in the region they had made during the election campaigns.

He also found it particularly important to see the population support the line of the Russian President Vladimir Putin and United Russia party during the times of the tough economy.

“This is very valuable, and we must treasure this result,” Dmitry Medvedev said.
