Valery Savin to take over Penza region vice-governor’s office

Penza, 23 November 2015. PenzaNews. Valery Savin, acting chairman of the Penza region government, will take over the office of the regional vice-governor, announced the head of the region Ivan Belozertsev during a video conference with heads of city areas and municipalities in the morning of Monday, November 23.

Valery (Alexandrovich) Savin was born in Penza on 17 June 1963.

In 1985, he graduated the Penza Polytechnic Institute. In 1996, he also graduated from the Volga District Academy of State Service.

From 1985 to 1993, he worked in the Penza Polytechnic Institute as engineer and senior professor, and worked on his doctoral degree.

In December 1993, he began working in the Penza city administration – headed the youth and public relations department, later moved to administrative public and youth affairs branch.

In January-May 2014, Valery Savin worked as the vice-governor of the Penza region.

From May 2014 to 29 June 2015, he was employed as the assistance of the Presidential envoy in the Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich.

On 23 May 2015, five former vice-governors, including Valery Savin, received a medal “For Merits to the Penza Region” in an official ceremony from the then governor Vasily Bochkarev before the latter’s replacement by Ivan Belozertsev as the new acting governor of the region as per the May 25 decree by President Vladimir Putin.

From June 2015, he performed the duties of the chairman in the Penza region government.
