Ivan Belozertsev: No upcoming Penza government “second appointment wave” in plans

Penza, 28 December 2015. PenzaNews. The Penza region government has no plans for a “second wave” of appointments, although separate staff changes still can occur, said the governor Ivan Belozertsev during the meeting with heads and editors-in-chief of regional media held in “Lastochka” hotel on Monday, December 28.

“Nothing we have is completely ideal. For example, one may think that a certain high-ranking official – based on the stories about him, on his self-representation – is going to be working so effectively that investors will just flow in, and issues are going to get resolved quickly. But, apparently, it does not work like that. All this is a tough, difficult process,” the head of the region pointed out.

Still, the current staff members of the Penza region government are skilled professionals in their respective fields, Ivan Belozertsev suggested.

“Some of the high-ranking officials need the time to adapt to their new office, as they became officials for the first time. This is not easy, either,” the governor added.

There are no vacancies in the government at the moment, he clarified.

“We will see: if the officials that currently fall behind their tasks are not going to improve, we will be working with them. If they are unable to, we will rotate them away,” said the head of the region.

In addition, Ivan Belozertsev once again pointed out that making drastic staff changes is not his preferred way of work.

From his point of view, if a certain official is no longer able to perform certain functions, for example, because of the age, their experience, skills and knowledge can become useful in a less work-intensive office.
