Penza, 1 February 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza region governor Ivan Belozertsev says it is necessary to introduce amendments to the federal legislation and make debt collection agencies illegal.

“We must prepare a draft and send it to the Legislative Assembly so that we could step forward with an initiative to ban debt collection agencies. In a recent related case in Ulyanovsk, a child was nearly burned alive – a case which hit every man close to home. Such debt collection agencies are working in the Penza region as well,” the governor said during the meeting session with administration heads of city areas and municipalities on Monday, February 1.

Earlier, the officials undertook certain measures which resulted in 18 such organizations ceasing their activities, he added.

“And yet certain organizations are still providing ‘quick money’ services in the city center, without explaining the conditions, and then begin to extort them using revolting means,” Ivan Belozertsev stressed.

“Let us together make it so that a federal law to ban debt collection agencies gets accepted,” the governor urged.
