One of the main issues discussed at the conference was the report about the regiona; committee’s performance from October 2014 to May 2016, presented by Georgy Kamnev, leader of the Penza Communists, deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region.

In his report, he described the situation in the country, the region, and the regional CPRF organization.

In particular, Georgy Kamnev pointed out that the regional CPRF branch managed to procure a new building over the reporting period thanks to support from the Central Committee and personally the party’s leader Gennady Zyuganov; along with renewing the equipment used by the organization, and opening of the Stalin Center with communal services and healthy lifestyle schools, as well as consultations by lawyers and deputies.

Also, according to him, another significant recent achievement was the opening of the people’s cooperative “Tovarisch” as a part of Gennady Zyuganov’s 10 anti-crisis points outlined by the CPRF leader at the Orel Economic Forum.

Moreover, the Communists in the Penza region are actively engaged in public protests and propaganda, which resulted in an increase of the CPRF supporter numbers: 125 new members joined the party in 2014, and 142 more in 2015.

However, the first secretary of the regional committee outlined in his report a number of issues in the work of the regional party branch, at the same time expressing his firm belief for them to soon be rectified.

In turn, Dmitry Filyaev, first secretary of the Penza city CPRF committee, suggested to discuss the issue of denouncing the decision of the 20th Soviet Communist Party convention “on destalinization” at the party-wide level. His proposal was met with a round of applause, and received unanimous support of the audience.

In conclusion, the members of the conference elected three delegates to attend the 16th Communist Party convention.

The upcoming party-wide event will be visited by Natalya Dorokhova, federal Komsomol organizer of the Volga Federal District; and Georgy Kamnev and Oleg Shalyapin, secretaries of the CPRF regional committee.

The audience unanimously concluded that the regional party branch showed satisfactory performance over the reporting period, says the CPRF regional committee press service.
