No independent candidates registered in Penza region for election toState Duma

Penza, 10 August 2016. PenzaNews. In the Penza region none of the three independent candidates, who previously declared their desire to stand for elections to the Russian State Duma of the seventh convocation, will not be able to take part in them, the Election Commission of the Penza region informed PenzaNews on Wednesday, August 10.

“During yesterday's session on registration of candidates for deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, Nikolai Galkin and Igor Potemkin who planned to participate in the elections for the 146th and 147th districts, respectively, were rejected because they failed to file appropriate documents in due time,” the department explained.

The regional election committee also recalled that during the session they considered a claim by Nina Podchischalina running for office from 146 th district to withdraw her from further participation in the election.

As PenzaNews reported earlier, 15 people registered as candidates for deputies of the State Duma of the Russian Federation in the Penza region.

The single-mandate election district No.146 will be represented in the elections by United Russia Sergei Esyakov, Communist Georgi Kamnev, SR Lyudmila Kolomytseva, Liberal Democrat Pavel Kulikov, as well as the candidate of the Ecological Party “The Greens” Anatoly Aleksyutin, Sergey Korobov from “Patriots of Russia,” representative of the “Communists of Russia” Andrei Nikiforov, and Alexey Pakaev from “Rodina.”

Political rivals in Lermontov single-mandate district No. 147 will be Liberal Democrat Alexander Vasiliev, Leonid Levin from “Fair Russia,” Communist Dmitry Filyaev, Dmitry Gaynullin from the “Party of Growth,” Victoria Dobrovol'skaya from the “Communists of Russia,” Andrei Mamonov nominated by “Rodina,” and Vasily Melnichenko from “The Greens.”
