The election committee of the Penza region will check the information on the use of administrative resource in the preparation for the elections of the State Duma MPs of the seventh convocation, as set out in the complaint received by the CEC earlier, the press-secretary of the governor and the government of the region Dina Cheryomushkina informed.

“The strict position of the governor [Ivan Belozertseva] and the government, of course, is a clear fulfillment of the law. Nothing is above the law. The central election committee will investigate this case, and if any facts are confirmed, the perpetrators will be punished. The governor strongly insists that the campaign is absolutely transparent, absolutely fair, without any violations,” she said.

“Our position on this issue is unequivocal — no compromises: if there is a violation, the guilty will be punished. We stand for honest elections only,” RIA Novosti quotes Dina Cheremushkina.

As PenzaNews reported earlier, on Friday morning, August 26, at a meeting of Russian CEC the head of department Ella Pamfilova reported on complaints on the use of administrative resource in many regions.

In particular, she said, in one of regional areas the representatives of election commissions inform about pressure from the local government where the public sector representatives - members of area election committees are “compulsively persuaded to break the law and deceive the observers.”
