Source: over 10 deputies of City Duma may lose their mandates in Penza

Penza, 7 November 2016. PenzaNews. More than 10 of 35 deputies of the Penza City Duma may lose their mandates due to inaccurate income details. This was reported to PenzaNews on condition of anonymity by the source close to the law enforcement authorities.

“If it really happens, then the deputies may not accept the city’s budget for the next year, there simply will be no necessary quorum,” the agency interlocutor said.
In his view, deprivation of the mandates of the deputies, the majority of whom are the representatives of the “United Russia” party, will paralyze the work of the whole representative body.
“In addition, the head of the Penza administration Victor Kuvaytsev, who was elected to this position by the same deputies in December 2015, may lose his post,” the source noted.
According to him, the solution to this issue lies not only in the juridical but in the political plane as well.
“For the first time this unofficial information appeared before the election of the deputies to the Russian State Duma. It concerns the political stability of the whole region. Perhaps everything will be resolved quietly,” the agency interlocutor said.
