Penza mayor to take part in board meeting of Union of Russian Cities

Penza, 29 November 2016. PenzaNews. The head of the Penza administration Victor Kuvaytsev will go to Kabardino-Balkaria on a business trip as a member of the Union of Russian Cities delegation from November 30 till December 2.

As the press service of the mayor’s office told PenzaNews, the regular meeting of the Union of Russian Cities will take place in the city of Baksan where officials will discuss the role of local self-government in small and medium business development.

“The guests will visit big industrial and agricultural enterprises located at the municipality territory,” the city administration added.

The Union of Russian Cities was formed on March 13, 1991 in order to establish and develop local self-government in the Russian Federation. Today, it includes 87 Russian municipalities. The highest governing body is general meeting that elects the president and the board for two years.

Penza is an active member of the Union of Russian Cities.
