The Penza region became the first region, the Russian opposition activist, coordinator of movement "Left Front" Sergey Udaltsov visited after his release from a colony where he had spent 4.5 years for organization of mass turmoil in Bolotnaya square in Moscow on May 6, 2012.

"For several years, 'Left Front' has been weak, disorganized, and in some regions – completely [...] destroyed. Penza is the first city I visited because many regions still preserved organizations capable of functioning like here. [...] People who work there are steadfast, courageous and did not bow and scrape before pressure," he said at the press conference held in the Penza regional committee of the Communist Party of Russia on Saturday, September 2.
The movement leader explained that he had strength and energy to resume his activity.
"I want to say that 'Left Front' in a renewed format will not be some boring, standard organization, especially a party – we have no intention of registering as a party," Sergey Udaltsov specified.
He stressed that he continued to consider himself "the most rigid opponent of the existing power".
"Nothing changed over the years," Sergey Udaltsov assured.
As it was reported before, it was not Sergey Udaltsov's first visit to Penza. In 2009, he participated in a founding conference of the regional 'Left Front' department, and in 2012 together with the member of the executive committee Leonid Razvozzhaev, Sergei Udaltsov took part in a rally in Fontannaya square conducted by the left-wing forces.
