United Russia plans to nominate Melnichenko for position of Federation Council member

Penza, 20 September 2017. PenzaNews. The regional political council of the United Russia party decided to nominate the deputy of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region Oleg Melnichenko for the position of member of Russian Federation Council.

During the meeting conducted before the second stage of the 23rd conference of the regional United Russia department, which was held in Lermontov library on Wednesday, September 20, his candidacy was nominated by the governor Ivan Belozertsev.
"You all know him well. He is our fellow citizen, he was born here, graduated from school No. 14, studied at teachers' training college, worker as a teacher, defended a PhD thesis, worked in the Zhelesnodorozhny area administration and in the regional government. He occupied different positions connected with a lot of responsibilities. [...] He knows the region, the people, the enterprises that work in the field of industry," the region head said.
Ivan Belozertsev stressed that the United Russia's candidate for the position of member of the Russian Federation Council – representative of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region had to be approved by the presidium of the party's General Council and only then the issue would be considered at a session of the regional parliament.
"I hope the Legislative Assembly will support the candidate and he [Oleg Melnichenko] will represent the Penza region in the Federation Council, will defend our interests and more money will come to the Penza region budget," the governor added.
As a result, the candidacy of Oleg Melnychenko was unanimously supported.
In response, he thanked everyone who voted for him for the confidence they had in him.
"I promise that I will work in the best interests of the Penza region, residents of the region and in the name of the Penza region," Oleg Melnichenko said.
He also expressed hope that if elected a member of the Russian Federation Council – representative of the Legislative Assembly of the Penza region, the deputies would provide him with assistance and support during his further work.
