Penza governor urges colleagues to conduct presidential elections without violations

Penza, 4 December 2017. PenzaNews. The governor of the Penza region, member of the presidium of the United Russia regional political council Ivan Belozertsev urged fellow party members to do their best to prevent violations in the presidential election campaign.

"Our task – the task of the Penza region, the task of active members of the faction – is to hold the elections without a single violation of the law," he said giving a speech at the 24th conference of the regional department of the United Russia party held in the Penza M.Y. Lermontov regional library on Monday, December 4.
Ivan Belozertsev did not exclude that there can be provocations both during the run-up to the election and at the time of the elections.
"It is necessary to ensure large attendance, people should come and vote," the governor added.
The next elections of the President of Russia will be held in March 2018.
It is expected that the date will be determined during the period from 7 to 17 December, 2017, 100-90 days before the election date.
Any citizen of the Russian Federation not younger than 35 years old and who has lived in the country for at least 10 years can become the president of the country. At the same time, there is a number of other limitations such as absence of a citizenship of another country and of an outstanding conviction for a grave or gravest crime.
Among those who already stated their intention to participate in the elections are Alexei Navalny, Anfisa Chekhova, Ekaterina Gordon, Sergei Polonsky and Ksenia Sobchak, who positioned herself being "against all candidates".
