"One cannot do without social networks. This is both an opportunity to get information about the situation in the city and give a competent reasonable answer to emerging questions bypassing bureaucratic procedures. In addition, there are business representatives on social networks who use these channels to promote their business. We need to interact with them in this area to attract investors to the city," he said.

Victor Kuvaytsev added that in some cases problems could be solved in the course of messaging.

"Our task is to help. If the issue is not within the competence of the municipality, we can give advice or initiate an appeal to other bodies," the mayor explained.

Commenting on appeals on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter, the head of the Penza administration specified that most of them arrived in private messages and those were not only requests to solve problematic issues, but also constructive proposals.

"It's a kind of an indicator of a civic stand and responsibility of our fellow citizens," the press service of Penza city hall quotes Victor Kuvaytsev.
