Results of elections in Penza region: Ivan Belozertsev receives 78.72% of votes

Penza, 14 September 2020. PenzaNews. Ivan Belozertsev, the candidate from the United Russia party, the incumbent governor of Penza region, won an unconditional victory in the election of the head of the constituent entity of the federation, receiving an absolute majority of votes in his support – according to preliminary data, 78.72%.

As the electoral commission of the region told PenzaNews, by now all the protocols were processed, the total number of which was 1 085.
The best result among all rivals of Ivan Belozertsev was shown by the candidate from the Communist Party, deputy head of the city of Penza, Oleg Shalyapin, who managed to gain 8.45% of the vote.
5.57% of the voters voted for Alexander Vasilyev (LDPR); 4.44% - for Anna Ochkina (A Just Russia); and 1.48% - for Pyotr Chugai (The Party of Pensioners).
According to preliminary data, voter turnout at the polling stations was 56.68%.
A total of 1 053 274 people were included on the electoral rolls.
The final results of the elections for the governor of Penza region will be summed up and officially announced later.
In the previous elections, which were held exactly five years ago – on 13 September 2015, over 86% of the voters who came to the polling stations voted for Ivan Belozertsev. The turnout was more than 62%.
