Penza, 18 November 2020. PenzaNews. The Bessonovsky Interdistrict Investigative Department of the Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation in Penza region opened a criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Art. 142.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation “Falsification of voting results”. This was reported by the press service of the regional Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee.

“According to the investigation, on September 13, 2020 – on a single voting day – during the elections of the governor of Penza region and by-elections of a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation of the seventh convocation unidentified persons from among the members of the precinct election commission at the polling station in Bessonovka falsified voting results by including unaccounted ballots in the number of those used during voting,” the ministry said.

The press service added that currently investigative actions are being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the crime.

“The investigation of the criminal case continues,” the department stressed.
