Melnichenko says Penza vice-mayor suspected of corruption

Penza, 12 April 2021. PenzaNews. Acting Penza region governor Oleg Melnichenko told Penza governor Andrei Luzgin that one of his deputies was suspected of corruption.

“Our contacts with entrepreneurs and the entrepreneurial community started to bear the first fruits. The fruits are quite good. Andrei Vyacheslavovich, you have a deputy, I will not name him now – I will do so later – who offered 10 million roubles for his services. We have a dictaphone recording of the conversation with one of the entrepreneurs,” Oleg Melnichenko said during an operational meeting at the regional government on Monday, April 12.
He noted that the circumstances of the incident are yet to be investigated by law enforcement officials.
However, the acting governor demanded that the mayor take a set of measures against the deputy within his authority as soon as possible.
“I believe this person should not be your deputy,” stressed Oleg Melnichenko.
