Penza, 26 March 2016. PenzaNews. The Penza culture and leisure center held a charity concert “Radiance of Good” to aid the construction of the Penza cathedral mosque on Pobedy prospekt. The event was fully sold out.

The list of honorary guests invited to the concert included the deputy chairman of the Penza region government Vasily Trokhin, the city head Valery Savelyev, the mayor Victor Kuvaytsev, and other officials.

In a welcoming word, Victor Kuvaytsev pointed out that he is greatly honored to be present on such an event.

“Penza is a unique city. For a long time, people of various nationalities and confessions have been living here, being able to develop – and developing – their national culture, their customs, their language. Some of the people here in the audience today are doing great job to help our city develop and prosper,” the Penza city mayor stressed.

The evening concert in the culture and leisure center featured performances by singers Irgen Mustafin, Gulsina Rafekova, Albert Ibraev and Ruslan Kildeev; the Tatar national ensemble “Bylbylym”; the gubernatorial symphonic choir headed by Vladimir Kashirsky; the emsembles “Stargorod” and “Kabluchok”; and more.

The people who visited the concert could donate by putting money in the donation bin, buying a signed brick for the brickwork, or making a transfer to the account of the charity foundation for the development of the Tatar heritage “Siyanie” [“Radiance” in Russian].

Earlier, Zhigansha Tuktarov, chairman of the charity foundation and Penza Duma deputy, told PenzaNews that the total amount of donations for the construction has reached about 34 million rubles, with 10 million rubles more expected to come in the nearest future. According to him, soon the workers plan to take upon the facade finish works – the most work- and cost-demanding part – and interior decoration. The cathedral mosque building is already connected to all supply pipelines.
