The auction sold off five landscapes and paintings by Penza artists German Karpov, Dmitry Sysoev, Denis Santalov, Alexei Shalaev, Sergei Shalaev and Vladimir Pavlikov, which had been showcased in the “Spiritual Spring” exhibition for over a month.

In addition, the event organizers auctioned off a silver-and-gems jewelry composition “Heart” created by brothers Valery and Yury Glazunovs.

The starting price for each of the paintings varied from 15,000 to 65,000 rubles, says the press service of the Penza diocese. At the same time, the Savitsky Picture Gallery’s VK.com social network group mentions that each lot “was purchased for a worthy price.”

The auction was a part of the Orthodox Christian culture festival “Spassky Evenings.”
