As it was reported by the bell-ringer of the cathedral, two men and a woman already tried themselves in this skill on Sunday, January 22.
"The aim is to make everyone acquainted with the bell-ringer's work. The course includes some theory, but most of it is practice so that people can assist in parishes. Actually, bell-ringers are demanded people but hardly anyone considers this profession because of the financial issue. At the same time, it is a great pleasure to come voluntarily to the cathedral on Sunday to ring the bells," the interlocutor said.
According to him, the only wish they have is that future bell-ringers have some ideas about church service.
"A group will consist of five people but if there are more people interested, it will be possible to make several groups – some people will study at one time, and some – at another. It is the occupation that requires an individual approach," Arkady Tsaran explained.
He added that in the nearest future they plan to conduct training in pairs and in groups of three.
"The classes will be held every Sunday after liturgy at about 10.30-11.00 depending on the time services end," the bell-ringer said.
