Penza, 27 April 2017. PenzaNews. The mayor Victor Kuvaytsev handed the donations for the reconstruction of the Spassky cathedral collected during charitable activities that were carried out in the first quarter of the year 2017 to the Archbishop Seraphim of Penza and Nizhnelomovsk.

The bishop accepted the contribution for the construction of the temple complex with gratitude.

"We live in a good time when there is an opportunity to reconstruct destructed shrines. We value each contribution to this blessed cause – even the humblest one," he noted.

In turn, Victor Kuvaytsev noted that the reconstruction of the cathedral united Penza residents.

"It is a great honour for us to take part in the construction of the Spassky cathedral, which has already become a city decoration and a meeting place for people who fight for Penza's prosperity and cultural development," the mayor's office press service quotes Victor Kuvaytsev.
