"Resistance to extremist ideology is based on traditional Islam. We should conduct a broad educational work among young people, who trying to find their position in life look for answers to many questions. [...] We believe that one of such leverages could be opening of a secondary educational institution – Muslim spiritual school – as a branch of Russian Islamic Institute in Kazan. Its graduates would be able to recoup missing personnel of the Islamic clergy, which disappear due to different reasons," he said at the meeting on collaboration with Muslim religious and public organizations held on Friday, June 30.
The governor Ivan Belozertsev supported the idea.
"It is a good idea to open a branch of the first Russian institution of Muslim professional higher education in the Penza region if there are highly qualified specialists who will teach there. It is important that our children do not go abroad to study but receive good education in the motherland and remain here to work," the press service of the regional government quotes the head of the region.
