Festival "Spassky Evenings. Christmas Meetings" to be held in Penza on January 14
Penza, 7 January 2018. PenzaNews. The fifth festival of Orthodox culture "Spassky Evenings. Christmas Meetings" will be held in Penza on Sunday, January 14.

The celebration will start at 11.00 in the Spassky cathedral under reconstruction. Patrons who contributed to the reconstruction of the cathedral will be awarded at the opening ceremony. The event will feature performance of the chamber choir "Spas" of the Penza diocese.
Exhibition of works of Sunday schools pupils and presentation of the society of Sisters of Mercy and the missionary campaign "Gospel in Every House" will be held under the arches of the cathedral.
Cultural and historical reconstruction of the Christmas festivities of the 19th century, a traditional fair with monastic pastries, hot drinks and crafts are planned to be held in the territory of Sobornaya square. Traditional winter games will be organized.
Everyone will have an opportunity to paint gingerbread, and to taste sbiten (Russian winter beverage) brewed following ancient monastic recipes in the walls of the Penza Theological Seminary, as well as to purchase festively decorated cakes.
Christmas carols will be performed from the stage of the festival by groups of Orthodox parishes, Sunday schools and creative associations of the city.
Boxes for collecting donations will be installed in the whole territory of the festival "Spassky Evenings", the press service of the Penza diocese informs.
