Penza, 21 June 2018. PenzaNews. Governor Ivan Belozertsev said that he had filed an application to the accounting department of the regional government to transfer his daily earnings to the construction of the Spassky cathedral in Penza and invited deputies of the Legislative Assembly of the region to follow his example.

"If the chairman of the Legislative Assembly, his deputies and the assembly's members take a similar decision, we will be grateful to you," he said at the 9th regular session of the regional parliament held on Thursday, June 21.

Ivan Belozertsev noted that "there are two important facilities to be completed in Penza".

"These are the cathedral in Sovetskaya – now Spasskaya – square [note: in September 2017 Sovetskaya square was renamed Sobornaya] and the Arbekovo mosque," he specified reminding that in both cases interior finishing works had started and it was still to complete landscaping of the adjacent territories.

"I hope for your support and understanding," the governor concluded.
