Penza, 14 August 2018. PenzaNews. On August 14, about 70 church attenders took part in the liturgy in the Resurrection Cathedral under the diocesan administration in Penza on the holiday of the procession of the venerable wood of the life-creating cross of the lord, which is popularly referred to as Honey Spas.

The service was headed by Archbishop Seraphim of Penza and Nizhnelomovsk.

He was assisted by senior priests of the regional centre Sergiy Loskutov, Ioann Yavorsky, Feodor Volodin as well as by sacristan of the cathedral Maxim Zorin.

The liturgical chants were performed by the choir of the Resurrection Church under the direction of precentor Olga Gorsheneva.

During the liturgy the bishop ordained deacon Oleg Pilgaev presbyter.

Priest Maxim Zorin preached a sermon before the communion.

At the end of the liturgy archbishop Serafim blessed water and honey and then congratulated those present on the holiday and the beginning of the Dormition fast, the press service of the Penza diocese informs.
