Penza, 14 October 2018. PenzaNews. Archbishop Seraphim of Penza and Nizhnelomovsk leads a divine liturgy in the Penza Intercession Cathedral on feast of the Protecting Veil of the Mother of God, which was celebrated on Sunday, October 14.

After the service, praises before the icon of the Most Holy Mother of God were sung. Then Archbishop Serafim congratulated the clergymen and parishioners with the patron saint's day and addressed the audience with a sermon.

In addition, he presented medals of Saint Innokenty Penzensky 3rd Class to head of the Culture Department of Penza Vera Feigina, singer Natalia Meshcheryakova, and Alexei Agafilov.

After the ceremony, the church members could attend a concert. A stage has been assembled at the premises of the cathedral; chairs for the audience had been placed. Pupils of the Sunday school of the cathedral and ensemble Zlato-Serebro demonstrated their creativity.

Everyone could eat buckwheat porridge and drink hot tea cooked in the field kitchen, the press service of the Penza diocese reports.
