Penza, 2 April 2019. PenzaNews. The institutions of the penal correction system of the Penza region joined the all-Russian campaign A Week of Prayer, organized on the initiative of the synodal department for prison service of the Moscow patriarchate.

It started last Monday, on April 1.

"There are special prayers held in all churches and prayer rooms of correctional colonies. The clergy hold services and talk with suspects, accused, convicts and employees of the department on various religious topics," the press service of the federal penitentiary service of Russia in the Penza region reported to the news agency PenzaNews.

The institution explained that the clergy pray, in particular, that the court is not subject to libel and bribery, they pray about victims of crimes, families of convicts, as well as employees of the penal system.
