Penza, 9 June 2011. PenzaNews. The project of the reconstruction of the Penza bus station was discussed at the session of the Town Planning Council on Thursday, June, 9th. According to the general director of the creative studio "ARHIP" Peter Sidorenko, it was planned to make an additional entrance from the Lunacharskaya Street and to make larger the area of the cash service zone.

Peter Sidorenko said: "It is planned to construct two hotels — for the workers of the bus station and for visitors, to organize the business zone on the ground floor of the platform, to divide platforms into parts for landing and disembarkation of the passengers following within the limits of the region and following to the other regions. Besides, entrance to the territory remains the only one — from the Kuznechny poryadok".

The Penza bus station serving suburban, regional and long-distance bus routes, is located near to city center, next to the railway station Penza-I.

The bus station occupies a two-storied building with an atrium. There are cash desks and trade enterprises on the ground floor, on the second a waiting room and sales area are located, the toilets and a left-luggage office are placed in the cellar. The trading kiosks are spontaneously generated near the building.

The bus service of Penza to area settlements is carried out by the bus station. Regular trips to Balakovo, Volgograd, Voronezh, Lipetsk, Moscow, Saransk, Saratov, Tambov, Tolyatti and Ulyanovsk are also organized.
