Penza, 16 June 2011. PenzaNews. From the beginning of 2011, 5 thousand newborns were surveyed on fact of the heavy hereditary diseases presence — adrenogenital syndrome, cystic fibrosis, galactosemia, hypothyroidism and phenyl ketonuria in the Penza region. There were no deviations revealed.

According to the press-service of the Ministry of Health and Social Development of the region, the survey was carried out at the regional children's hospital named after N.F. Filatov.

The press-service said: "There were allocated 2.4 million rubles from the federal budget and 5 million rubles from the regional budget for materials and carrying out of the neonatal screening".
