Penza, 23 June 2011. PenzaNews. The Joint-stock commercial Savings Bank of the Russian Federation started the sale of the first memorable coins of the precious metals devoted to XXII Olympic winter games in 2014. The monetary program "Sochi 2014" developed by the Bank of Russia will be hold until 2014.

The Head of the Penza regional branch of the Savings Bank Yury Egorov said: "Within the program, the memorable and investment coins devoted to the Olympic Games–2014 will be sold. The Savings Bank as the general partner of "Sochi 2014" possesses an exclusive right of sale of the coins of precious metals on the territory of the Russian Federation. The corresponding agreement between the Savings Bank of Russia and the Bank of Russia was signed on December, 2nd, 2010".

He explained that four kinds of silver coins of 3 rubles face value "Biathlon", "Figure skating", "Mountain skiing", "Hockey" and a gold coin of 1 thousand rubles face value of "Flora of Sochi" would be on sale.

The design of all coins was developed in collaboration of the artists of the federal state unitary enterprise of "Goznak", experts of Bank of Russia and representatives of Organizing committee "Sochi 2014". The State Emblem of the Russian Federation was placed on the obverse of all coins.

Yury Egors said: "The subjects and design of coins "Sochi 2014" reflect not only the Olympic plots, but also the specificity of Sochi and its unique nature. Near to sportsmen the rare plants growing on the Black sea coast depicted on the coins, unlike "silver" athletes, are colored".
