Crypt with remains of Baron Alexander Serdobin was found in the Penza region

Penza, 12 July 2011. PenzaNews. The residents of village Nadezhdino of the Serdobsky area of the Penza region found out a crypt with remains of Baron Alexander Serdobin.

According to the representative of the press-service of the regional ministry of culture and archive, the coffin was found during the clearing process of the Nikolsky cemetery temple which is reconstructed on blessing of the bishop of Penza and Kuznetsk Veniamin.
The interlocutor of the agency said: "There was well remained coffin in crypt with the remains of the rich man dressed in a suit of the 18th — 19th century. There was the gilt medallion-panagija with an inscription on the breast, where was written "1813 May, 7th. Kiev. Alexander Serdobin".
Baron Alexander Nikolaevich Serdobin was buried in a crypt of the cemetery church in the summer of 1816.
The representative of department said: "Officially he was considered as the pupil of the well-known prince Alexander Borisovich Kurakin — the owner of the village Nadezhdino who created the unique palace-park ensemble. It is known that his foster-children were his illegitimate children. Baron Alexander Serdobin was born in village Nadezhdino, got brilliant education and was one of the most favorite foster-children of prince Kurakin".
After carrying out the researches over remains of A.N. Serdobin, the requiem was served and the coffin was put on the former place in the crypt.
